چکیده

1. CONTINUOUS TIME IGNORABILITY In this section, we give a technical definition of continuous time ignorability assumption, and prove a sufficient condition for a Markov process to satisfy the continuous time ignorability assumption. Our definition of continuous time ignorability follows and extends the formulations by Lok (2008), whose formulation is only for a single outcome. It also extends the formulation by Zhang, Joffe and Small (2011), whose definition is for a rank preserving model.

Effect of vitamin A deficiency on respiratory infection: Causal inference for a discretely observed continuous time non-stationary Markov process

In this paper, we analyze the effect of vitamin A deficiency on respiratory infection using a longitudinal data set from a study of Indonesia young children. For this study, it is reasonable to assume that everything happens in continuous time but is only observed at discrete times, and that the treatment level is only coarsely observed. We model the data as discrete time observations from a co...

Comparison of 25- Hydroxy Vitamin D Levels in Premature Infants with and without Respiratory Distress

Background: The 25-hydroxyvitamin D3(25-OH D3)deficiency is a common problem worldwide, and it is aprevalent incidence in neonates. Different studies investigated the relationship of vitamin D deficiency with neonatal mortality and morbidity. This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between vitamin D deficiency and respiratory distress in preterm neonates. Methods: A prospective cohor...

Mapping Activity Diagram to Petri Net: Application of Markov Theory for Analyzing Non-Functional Parameters

The quality of an architectural design of a software system has a great influence on achieving non-functional requirements of a system. A regular software development project is often influenced by non-functional factors such as the customers' expectations about the performance and reliability of the software as well as the reduction of underlying risks. The evaluation of non-functional paramet...

Some New Methods for Prediction of Time Series by Wavelets

Extended Abstract. Forecasting is one of the most important purposes of time series analysis. For many years, classical methods were used for this aim. But these methods do not give good performance results for real time series due to non-linearity and non-stationarity of these data sets. On one hand, most of real world time series data display a time-varying second order structure. On th...

Inference and Filtering for Partially Observed Diffusion Processes via Sequential Monte Carlo

Diffusion processes observed partially or discretely, possibly with observation error, arise when constructing stochastic models in continuous time. The method of Sequential Monte Carlo provides an alternative to Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods, and can be effective in complex models at the cutting edge of scientific research. This paper introduces Sequential Monte Carlo approaches to inferenc...
